Did your (great) grandfather regret fighting in WW2? Mine left a diary and it's absolutely heartbreaking to read.

>regret
many were drafted. It's not their fault they were forced to do it. The blame lies in the governments who orchestrated it

The government actually massacred a huge group of ww1 vets recently when they weren't paid the benefits they fought for like 10 or 15 years before ww2 began. Everyone with doubts or regrets didn't have much contact with one another and likely assumed they were alone with them. Anonymous internet really changed things far more than anyone realizes.

Both of my grandfathers fought in WWII for the USA. Now the US government has become fascist, just like the nazis they fought.

I oppose the US government for the same reason they fought fascism. I oppose the genocide in Palestine for the same reason I oppose the Holocaust.

No. At the time his service was honorable. His son died in Vietnam though and the government fucked him around about the missing remains. The service changed so much no one thought ill of me when I deserted in 2008. They were more proud of me actually. I didn't tell the niggers and spics about my pedigree. I had zero UCMJ got over paid and an honorable. I was told I should of been an officer as I was better than the Virginia Tech Lt who sucked off the platoon sgt at every opportunity. They did not know my pedigree despite spying on me.

Never understood how someone be willing to die for people who don't fight themselves for the thing they want accomplished this always boggled my mind. Humans are literally dumb and stupid, easily manipulated, and don't think for themselves. Imagine risking your life because you were 'drafted" then put me in jail. Obviously the draft wasn't fair, show me a famous, rich, or connected person that actually died in a war.

As I understand it, he came back and tried to go in again for Korea. My grandmother and his mother intercepted the Army's letter saying they'd take him and he spent years thinking they didn't want him. It's sad to me they denied him the purpose he felt in life. He had a great job playing football in an industrial league in New York and gave it up so he could do his part. He came back and gave the rest of his life to his family and civil service before dying at 54. Definitely was not your average Jew. He was an American to the day he died.

I don't think he regretted anything but his battle buddy being killed two weeks before the war ended. He named my father, his first born, after that man.

My grandfather was the only survivor from his 200-man unit. The swiss red cross pulled him out of a mass grave in france. His unit was starved to death by the French on the so-called Rhine meadows after the end of the war.
He was forcibly conscripted from his father's farm at the age of 15 in 1943 to replace his father, who was a farmer and needed to feed the population.
He fought in Italy and France.

He definitely had a blow. Above all, he never got over the fact that he was the only one to survive. He regret it for sure.

Government panic. The more wrong they know they are, the more brutal they get, if you'll pardon the anti-Semitic noticing. Rest in peace, Ashli Babbitt.
