I have a classic car from 1975 and work van from 2020. In terms of technology i got to live through it all and every day of my life has been exciting engineering class. Very few people from any other time period will grow up to be competent in such a diverse and wide range of skills.

If you were born in this period you won’t understand the context of pre-9/11 and farther back. Because millennials had contact with both Boomers and their parents (who were a lot smarter, better teachers, than boomers). AND millennials experienced society with no fucking PCs and internet-invading culture. You get to remember the good parts of Gen X culture which Jews trashed immediately after 9/11. A lot of it was corporate though, but it makes sense considering the 1980s.
2000-2004 was a real shitty period of George Bush and people incessantly talking about Muslims and 9/11. It was like if /pol/ was on TV and in the heads of normies all of a sudden, before it existed. This is partially the Clinton’s fault and their scandals.

But even in the West, during the worst years, the last decade maybe, good games were still made once in a while. But they were indie or non-AAA games for the most part.
