Yeah ok, the only thing I know for sure is tariffs are not causing inflation or harming our glorious GDP line or the stock market, but they are decimating the Canadian, Chinese, and Indian economies. So even if they do nothing to help US manufacturing they have already achieved three strategic goals at zero cost to Trump voters

The point of tarrifs is to discourage imports from other countries and boost the number of domestic manufacturers. Obviously domestic manufacturers would see the implementation of tariffs as something negative. This is exacerbated by the increased costs of imported resources and raw materials needed the manufacturer.
