In some states the smoking age is 21 as well.
Communities in my state (Massachusetts) are starting to create laws that make it illegal for anyone born after a certain date to purchase tobacco products in their towns.
For example, when the law takes effect in one of these towns next year, if you turn 21 by the end of the year you will be allowed to purchase indefinitely. If you turn 21 on January 1, 2026, you will never be allowed to purchase tobacco in that town.

Personally I think we should have a constitutional amendment that bans the use of conscription; if the government can't get enough people to serve willingly then it is probably fighting a war that does not need to be fought.

And for the adult stuff (voting, jury duty, signing contracts, purchasing firearms, smoking, booze, making own medical decisions, etc) they should all be set at the same age. 18 sounds reasonable to me, maybe set it at 19 so we don't have adults in high schools. Or make public schools shorter.
