I protested the war and knew we shouldn’t be doing it. War kills everything in it’s path, but politicians treat it like a national guard operation or moving police around. The brutality of it was always something those of us against it were aware of, the worst stories don’t surprise me. We knew about WW2, we knew how America fights and shoots civilians and pows. We knew the general Vietnamese public did not deserve it.

I regret that my fellow countrymen did the horrible things that I knew they would. I regret not protesting more effectively. We should have used guns to fight politicians but most of the left didn’t have the balls. The whole war was a disgrace. I hope the Vietnamese people are doing better today and can find it in their hearts not to hate us forever, though I will understand it if they do.
