The face of the man who single handily killed the Autrian liberal weapons law
Here is the face of the zoomer who manged to turn one of the most liberal weapon laws into one of the most restricive in one single deed.
new law includes but not limted to:
>1. retroactive effect: The new regulations apply to all first-time applications for a gun ownership card (for category B) since June 1, 2025, which means that all those who have been issued a new gun ownership card since June 1, 2025 must take the more stringent psychological tests.
>2. gun ownership card also for category C: The new stricter rules should also apply to the purchase of manually loaded weapons such as shotguns and repeating rifles. They will also require a gun ownership card.
>And: anyone who has bought such a weapon in the last two years must apply for a new gun ownership card within two years or lose their right to own a weapon.
>3. psychological testing: Verification of reliability and more stringent, multi-stage firearms psychological assessment before purchasing a firearm.
>4. dual firearms psychological assessment: The psychological assessment is greatly expanded. It must be carried out on the first application and once again after five years. Combination packages are no longer required.
>5. recurring checks: All gun owners will be automatically checked every five years for their "reliability" (including psychological characteristics) and must be able to provide proof of follow-up training (gun license).
>6. raising the minimum age: the minimum age for the possession of category B weapons (semi-automatic weapons such as pistols) is to be raised to 25 years and category C weapons to 21 years.
>7. introduction of a four-week cooling-off period: in future, firearms may only be transferred to purchasers four weeks after the purchase from dealers and gunsmiths has been completed ("cooling-off period"). This should apply to the first purchase of every firearm (including the second, third, etc.).
