I'm being 100% genuine when I say that furries are actual, unironic white culture. Anthropomorphic animals have been knocking around western Europe pretty much since humans began making art, pic related is somewhere in the region of 40-50,000 years old. Not even Christianity could fully stamp it out, in the medieval period people were claiming shit like somewhere there was a nation of good God-fearing men with dogs' heads, and IIRC werewolves-but-good kept cropping up in Germany throughout the centuries.
