Because Hitler wasn't always a leader, he had to suck a lot of dick to get where he was. And the group he pertained to studied and glucked eastern esotericism. Hitler just bridged it before eventually breaking off and taking over, but branding is sticky.

If Hitler got a fresh start with no ties he'd definitely wouldn't have introduced eastern symbolism into his framework that was manufactured mostly off of northern/central european mythos and folklore.

1. it looks cool (this is the most important reason. a lot of upstart political parties used this symbol at the time just because it was a popular symbol for good luck. you can commonly find swastikas in advertisements, greeting cards and magazine illustrations from America in the 1910s and 20s)
2. it's an ancient indo european symbol and I assume hitler kinda liked that. not sure but it makes sense to me. I know Himmler was all over that stuff

Its a common symbol of all cultures as it follows the path of Polaris the northern star, thats why it changes in orientation based on which culture is using it because they had different paths. It is wholly Germanic in origin the way he displayed it.
