>rhetoric
so how much you allow yourself to be manipulated is a qualifier for how intelligent you are? and you need a big ol' circle filled with "rhetoric", that matches the importance of logic and grammar, in order to not be considered a retard?
u wot m8?

Long nose tribe all study rhetoric (pilpul) from a young age. I'd say it's the most important of the three

Rhetorically speaking, grammar is relative to your language and that is biased in favor of your choice of symbols. Logically, you're the retard because you've already resorted to name calling without following your own rules.

but the graphic gives no indicator of the circle representing "understanding of rhetoric".
for all i know it could represent the amount of rhetorical slop you've consumed and believed. that was my point.
these things need context sometimes.

Grammar, logic and rhetoric are the tools of thought. They might not increase your IQ but they teach you how to think.

The grammar in the Trivium is Latin and Greek grammar.

The fact that you don't understand that words can have more than one meaning is proof of OP's claim.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trivium

Your brain is completely cooked by government schools.
> Rhetoric is the application of language in order to instruct and to persuade the listener and the reader.
> It is the knowledge (grammar) now understood (logic) and being transmitted outwards as wisdom (rhetoric).
> Its aim is to identify what is most probably true or false where logical certainty is not possible.

why is having two 41's logical?
Anonymous (ID: g+49unt2) United States No.514764211
>>514763962
There aren't "two" 41s. The chart is just arranged that way to make it easy to typeset and avoiding a bunch of crisscross lines. So it's saying that proposition 47 references propositions 41 and 46. You can clearly see that https://elements.ratherthanpaper.com/1.47

You need to study the trivium because you clearly don't know how to think.

you could honestly skip grammar if your logic and rhetoric are top notch. And it would be great because you could destroy your opponents while sounding retarded which would infuriate them

The first chart can be a little confusing at first. See the picture here >>514763952
and the last link there, scroll to the bottom, the same dependency chart is there with clickable links to all the propositions. In the text for each proposition the prerequisite propositions are mentioned. After looking at all these things a little it should become clear how to navigate the first chart. It says "in logical sequence" because the propositions/theorems build upon other propositions/theorems in a chain, where each step is proven with a deductive argument.

I love Latin and I understand that good grammar is ideal. It's simply not a hard requirment which is a huge difference. The same can't be said about logic and rhetoric.

No, it is a requirement. You need to know for example why a complete sentence/ proposition requires a subject and a predicate to then know how to use propositions in an argument. Grammar, logic and rhetoric are not separate, but a unified system, interconnected subjects, and are the tools of thought. You can think of it as short, intermediate and long modes of conveying meaning in a text or speech. Grammar deals with the meaning in a short collection of words, such as a part of a sentence. Logic deals with the meaning in a longer collection of words, such as a sentence, or a few sentences. Rhetoric deals with the meaning in an even longer collection of words, such as a paragraph, a verse, a chapter etc. The grammar we are taught is a hollowed out version of what it really is, it goes much deeper, we are just taught the bare necessities.

Grammar and spelling for sure, I neglect that all the time and it looks retarded. Although I'm mrely shitposting online, I really do have to exert the additional effort to use the commas, the shift key, etc. Life is hard.

This isn't about how you sound, it's about how you think. We learn nothing about grammar, logic and rhetoric in school, so people have a very shallow idea of what grammar is. It's really the building blocks of thought.
