I have 10+ years as a software engineer, I have experience in nuclear engineering (trained in the US Navy) I have two degrees (computer science and nuclear engineering) that are like 15 credits from finishing each. I cannot find a job right now.
This is partially due to the state I live in, there's nothing out here. People do door dash and stuff, if you even have a job in my neighborhood it's an anomaly.
I work at a grocery store right now. I interviewed with Meta, and two other software engineering places the past two weeks..but it's just so difficult to compete these days. If I had stayed in nuclear power it would be much easier, but those positions are gay as fuck. Like test for your job every other week, and be on shift work (but making $250k)
I went into software engineering because it's what I enjoy but the field turned into gay culture club instead of employing actual talent they higher a few 10x engineers and the remainder is a frat.
