It's local elections so every municipality has a list of AfD candidates. That means there are like thousands all over the country. A few deaths among them could be coincidence, I don't believe it is very suspicious.

6 deaths per year is 10x higher than what you would expect to naturally happen, and that's if every single on of the 10,000 candidates were AfD candidates, as all the deaths have been AfD candidates and not other parties.

They're probably not as desperate in other countries. Doing this indicates the people in charge are extremely scared and are resorting to last ditch efforts to prevent populist revolt, which they would only be resorting to if they knew the numbers weren't in their favor even remotely. In the aggregate sense, I don't think these targeted murders by the government will prevent or stop anything, and most likely will only embolden further revolutionary acts.
