Where you have no say whatsoever in who gets to run the nation, and make decisions that affect you personally?

Ideally I'd decide everything, but if getting what I want requires some portion of the population to have no decision making power, then I'll tolerate it

There is no real democracy, there is only authoritarianism and totalitarianism.
Authoritarianism is overt and forceful so when the public fights back with protest/riots etc., it can often alter its values for the sake of maintaining order in an easier way.
Totalitarianism is covert and inculcates the regimes values into its citizens in a way that makes all criticism of the regime and its values seem like an illness or a character default.
