South Korea, like many other countries, has an aging population who didn't breed at replacement rate, they have a sophisticated economy which must be maintained in order to keep their current standard of living, and they have the same modern culture created during the post war boom by the Me Generation.

They either replace their population with foreigners or drastically reduce their standard of living, and given the ease and comfort that they are used to, I doubt they'll do the latter.
