There are 2000 US troops in Baltic states. From tactical perspective it doesn't matter if it's 2000 or 200 (because neither will protect anything against bazillion Russians), so if US wants it to reduce their presence by 90% it doesn't mater that much - there is still tripwire force to trigger US reaction. More countries the better - it's more important that quantity of troops (until some country goes balls deep and sends some serious force that's actually capable of protecting you from the very first second).

Maybe I just don't know enough, but as far as I can tell, Georgia is the only part of the region that Russia has much to worry about.
