Its not a psy-op, china is ethnically xenophobic, they don't care about religion.

The Hui are basically indistinguishable from the average Han chinese guy, and they have similar culture, they just are muslim.

They are catered too and are seen as fine, infact the major universities of China have halal food so basically the Hui are one of the many okay minorities because they are just the same as Han people.

Meanwhile besides the turkic Uyghurs, the mongolians of inner mongolia, and the tibetens are treated much worse.

The mongols are having their language forcefully removed and are being heavily restricted on what they can teach their kids.

The buddhists of tibet are restricted as well and can't even "reincarnate" without asking the government.

Basically if you are close enough to Han you are fine, but if you are a turk, mongol, or tibetan, you are screwed.

IDK about manchus I never heard anything positive or negative there which is surprising because they are the most recent non-Han to rule over and abuse the Han.
