A/C was a relative luxury until fairly recently, and around the time that Europeans became wealthy enough to afford it they also started implementing stricter green laws that disincentivized more widespread adoption

It's been nearly ubiquitous amongst white people in the southern US since the 1970s. Almost every home in the deep South built after 1970 would be virtually unlivable without AC. Anything built in the last 25 years where energy efficiency is the highest concern is a death trap without AC.

My parents are boomers and grew up in kinda rural areas without much money. They told me one of the reasons the niggers wanted to get into white schools so badly was because white schools had air conditioning. My mom told me she didn't have air conditioning at home until she left for college, but she exaggerated. Her mother preferred to keep every window and door open in the house to let the sea breeze blow through (they lived on the beach), so they really only ran the AC when it was raining or particularly hot. She didn't have 24/7 AC until she left. My dad said he first got AC when Kennedy was in office, but it was a window unit in his parents' bedroom, so it didn't count yet. Neither of them had central AC until they bought their first condo in the late 1970s. Boomers like to brag about how long it was before they had AC and how lucky we are to have always had it when in reality their exposure to AC is similar to people my age and the Internet.

There has not been one year in the last 80 years of any European country that a person could die from heat exhaustion where the person didn't purposefully cause themselves to die by not drinking water or finding a light amount of shade.

We hit these temperatures every single year in USA for most the country.

Any warmer than 77F (25Cuck) and I'd want AC in the summer even if it was only for a few days. I can tolerate down to 45F (7Cuck) in my house in the winter if I'm not sleeping, but it rarely gets that cold especially with my PC running and my 50 inch monitor on all day. Sometimes I'll even throw the window open during the winter.

I actually just spoke to my dad. He said his family got an AC window unit in 1952, and that actually they had full AC throughout the house 10 years later. he was 3 1/2 when they got that unit and says he only remembers it because they were the first ones in the neighborhood to get an AC, and his parents never let that go. He said they ran it during the day and turned it off at night. Stories change over time. I don't really know what is true.

It's entirely survivable still even with such modern day high temps if you dont heat up your home and have good walls that will cool off at night.
But you will still sweat your ass off if you have to prepare a meal or work in a room on something

We have very tame coastal climate. If there ever is a heatwave it's 2 weeks at most. Our buildings are made from proper materials, insulated and often old with no planned installation point for permanent AC. Most europeans don't see a reason nor do they see it worthwhile to install AC for the week every year that the temps climb to 30°C.

Drive down south and you will find AC being more common where it's actually hot half the year. Public buildings are legally required to have AC. Companies need to provide heatbreaks and free drinks if they don't have AC and the temps climb above a certain threshold.

Yeah, modern homes aren't designed around lack of AC at all.
Old homes
>Large windows on opposite walls to allow air to pass through
>At least ten foot high ceilings so heat would rise
>Windows above internal doors to keep air circulating in the house
>Large covered front porch with sitting areas to keep in the shade

The heat level is basically the same for the past 200 years. Seriously annoys the hell out of me when I see "hottest year on record" in the media when you can go back and see that shit is false. Using AC though? Those same heat dissipating features are just inefficient power drains, so they aren't common anymore.

Northern Europe isn't Southern US and our houses aren't built like those in the US. They are well insulated and generally stay cool unless you've got a heatwave lasting several days, which is rare. I can count the number of times I would have turned on the A/C this year on one hand. Like literally three times it went up to like 26 or 27° inside my home and I thought "it would be a bit more comfortable right now if I had A/C".
Anyway all new homes are built using heat pumps and you can reverse them to get A/C. Not really worth it retrofitting it for three days a year.

You would assume with how much they obsess over this topic they would at least look at a map and try to figure out some basics, like the fact that ''the europe'' doesn't exist. Sweden is not the same country as Spain.
There are very few countries that have a climate hot enough for people to consider getting AC.
Countries that are closer to the equator that may require AC are closer to muslim countries which makes them more poor and shit, so no one can afford AC.

Muh 2003 heat wave hit France, not ''the europe''
Why are you freaks so retarded?
>heh, France got hit by the biggest heat wave in 500 years and they were not prepared for because France has a fairly cold climate
>so now no one from Finland can talk about American gun stats
You are insane

You’re doing the exact same thing you retard. Remove Baltimore, St Louis, Chicago, and about five other large cities (<0.1% of the land area) from the aggregate and suddenly the US as a whole is safer than almost anywhere in Europe. Our “gun problem” is almost entirely just niggers and spics in cities shooting each other and you lot make it out to be a common thing everyone here sees daily, meanwhile weather that we laugh at here kills thousands of your boomers every year
>but that’s France and not, uh *checks flag* what the fuck is a “latvia?”
So you’re all “Europe” when you combine like Voltron to flex on us but when a legitimate criticism comes your way suddenly the frogs don’t speak for you? convenient isn’t it?

You are mentally ill and arguing against strawmen. Europe lives rent free in your head and it's just a strawman that doesn't exist in real life. You made an imaginary ''europe'' in your head and you are jealous of your own strawman.
Dilate and kill yourself.

?? 24° is a great indoor temperature for summer, why the fuck would I want it any colder? Are you one of those retards who cools their home down to 20° in summer and heats it up to 25 in winter?

Cool story. Let me know when there’s a 4chan.lv where I can learn your language and then post “obsessively” (thread OP was obviously rage bait if you didn’t realize it) about a country I don’t live in and shouldn’t rationally have any reason to care about
