Atheism is cringe because it assumes knowledge of whether or not there is a God when human knowledge simply cannot answer this question. The ONLY valid answer is that we don't know if there's a God or not, the answer may or may not be revealed after our death. There are no objective records that indicate a God has ever manifested itself on Earth.

I think its fine to not know but often agnostics are usually just the 3rd wheel in a complex debate poisoning the well. Its like there are 2 adults in the room discussing quantum physics and one 1st grader going "Well... we can't prove anything either way and my teacher said the dinosaurs are real". But putting that joke aside a lot of agnostics can be smart... but they are still just not taking any kind of position in a debate. They'll take control of the debate if they are the smartest person in the room but if someone else is smarter they will just dismiss arguments with "Well we don't really know". its a cop out.

Anon those spiritual moments are just psychosis. That's why people who hit rock bottom will find religion a lot of the time. They are going through a very stressful time and have mental breakdowns.
One way to know that they're not actual spiritual experiences is that the experience always leads them to the dominant religion in their country. If you live in a Christian country you'll find Jesus. If you live in a Muslim country you'll find Allah. If you live in a Buddhist country you'll see the Buddha.
If they were truly spiritual experiences then everyone would reach the same universal conclusion.

Its just how we are wired. Faith is also connected to love. You can't love someone if you don't have faith in them. Everything that is good about human connection is connected to faith. We can't be happy if everything is just about proof or certainty.
