I saw this post and as a lark did a quick check on post history. Shit wasn't adding up... who trains their own service dog?

Did some digging and found out info about the situation. This fucker is just fat and depressed and playing the system fucking over not only the Landlord but the other tenant. And they are fucking gloating and getting all their dopamine from the users who are applauding and saying fuck landlords. I tried posting the truth, but I guess I am shadowbanned. I'll leave my research after this paragraph if anybody wants to use it.

OK, what really happened is that heavyhomo is fat, depressed, can't get out of bed and is playing the system by fucking over not just the landlord but the other tenant who is ALLERGIC to dogs.

What is not in this post is that this 'service animal' was just brought into the home as a puppy @ 8 weeks after previously asking the landlords if he could have or dog-sit a dog and they said no. He lives in the basement, there is a tenant on the main floor who is asthmatic and was having bad reactions. Also the dog was using the yard as a bathroom when the upstairs tenant had full exclusive rights to the yard in their lease. The upstairs tenant asked the landlords for action and they did what they had to do to BY LAW to accomodate the medical condition of upstairs tenant.

Once landlords asked for pet to be removed, heavyhomo said no it was supposed to be a service dog because he knew that was protected. They got a Dr note saying Dog is to assist with scheduling and deep pressure therapy because heavyhomo can't use a fucking calendar or use CBT/DBT and breathing techniques like everybody else and he wanted a cute doggo.

Some notes:

There is no legislation in 'Province' that specifies the training necessary for an animal to be classified as a service animal, and there is no certification regime for service animals in 'Proince'. Two pieces of legislation refer to services animals: The Animal Protection Act, 2018 and The 'Province' Human Rights Code, 2018.

The degree of training required for a service animal is not specified in the legislation.

The Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission defines a Service Animal as:

A Service Animal is [sic] animal with specialized training to assist a person with recognized physical and/or mental disabilities. The Service Animal must be able to take a specific action, when needed, to assist the person with an aspect of their disability.

This dog had no training whatsoever. But fat depressed heavyhomo still won because he told the Hearing Officer he intended to train it. Doesn't matter because under the provincial description because anybody with a Dr note can say their dog is a service animal regardless of training. In fact he couldn't even get the dog to walk on a leash at 8 months, probably because it never went for walks because again: fat, lazy and depressed.

Looney Tunes!! And he is the good guy GLOATING on here and standing up to the evil landlords that Reddit hates so much and getting all that sweet sweet karma and validation. The evil landlords that BY LAW had to accommodate the medical condition of the upstairs tenant, and now by looney tunes Canadian law has to also accommodate Jabba's service dog. They were in a no win situation.

And now because they had a duty to act, he is taking them to a Human Rights Tribunal over the fact they acted.

Those of you who aren't landlords and say landlording is free money, are only half right, although if you get all the shit in a bag and sell it at the shit store and run an efficient business like the restaurant that it is, then yes you sit back and relax and the money rolls in except for the occasional issue which takes a number of hours out of your week.

The half side where you're wrong is when you don't see it as a business and see it as a set and forget cash cow, the tenants have all of the power in the legal system and so if you're a bad landlord, you're going to be like a bad manager in a restaurant you are going to be rapidly thrown out of the situation, these horror stories are uncommon but they do happen, and when they and a thousand variations on this happen, you have to dance with the skill of Gods and please the powers that be, because one wrong move and 30 years worth of profit margin gets catapulted, and when that happens, you're sitting on a negative value real estate, and you have to sell it.

So yes it's free money, kind of like how a car is free transportation. If you were trained by someone who's been in the business for 50 years, then you'll be ok, but if you're brand new, there's a chance that being a Lord God of pay me money to stand on my planetary surface, isn't your game.

You're best off renting to college students not involved in Greek life, because they always want to be gone over the summer, so their lease ends, they leave, and you can adjust rent to the market rate consistently. You have to be close to a college for that to work though. They're usually pretty respectful too, so they won't leave the place a mess beyond standard wear and tear provided shit works properly, and you don't fuck them out of their safety deposit.

I already did, I found the original case from 2022 on Canlii, took 2 seconds looking for service animals in province. Sent that and post to Human Rights Commission. Fuck fat lying fucks getting disability money because they are too fat to work.

Landchad wasn't discriminating against fake service dog, they were trying to accommodate upstairs neighbor allergic to fake service dog. Courts said can't do anything because it's a service dog because anything is a Service Animal in Crazy Canadaland.

Not sure if fat fuck or jew landlord is worse. I guess there's a small chance that being a fat retard isn't permanent but considering he's a redditor I guess I'm on team landlord with this one.
