I think it would be hard to get into without nostalgia but the game is huge, and there are a lot of different skills to train. I liked the quests too, but now they seem very simple especially when everyone follows guides and uses runelite to solve the puzzles. I'd say try the free to play stuff, there is a lot and if you don't enjoy it you probably won't enjoy the full game either.

I played that game back in middle school and you could get banned for mentioning RuneHQ. The quests were some of the best I've ever played in a game, definitely the best in any MMO I've played.
