As much as I love to see the tranny movement finally stop and people coming back to their senses, I'm always going to miss the 2020's hysteria of everyone coming out as trans and going fucking insane.

Most surgeries for anything like knees or backs are very profitable but are rare since it requires a lot of testing and making sure the conditions are right and if the patient ACTUALLY needs it. So hospitals try to get them when they can but it's rare

And now with that in mind, imagine a surgery that's extremely experimental and extremely profitable suddenly being done en masse simply because of "Vibes" the person gets on a random Tuesday, that's a money printing machine. I think the initial financial motivation was actually dumber, I think the gay rights non-profits got gay marriage legalized and went "oh fuck, we're going to need to get real jobs now" and quickly found another issue to fundraise on. My niece is a FtM who married a MtF. Neither got surgery or takes hormones. They have a child who I can't imagine is going to very well adjusted. Over the last year the two of them have toned their shit down quite a bit. When they first decided to gender swap in '16, they were already extremely annoying attention whores. The cross dressing, which is what I think it really is rather than actual gender dysphoria, seemed like yet another way to put on a performance. Once they came out, not only were they louder about everything, they were far more hysterical and miserable. I never saw them happy about anything after the gender swap. They could get offended by a crosswalk signal (actually happened as the white man on the sign is both heteronormative and elevates whiteness above other races).
I'm not sure if toning things down is due to them seeing the cultural landscape changing or the realities of caring for an infant has put their dress up into context. Doubt they'll ever be normal, especially living out in Seattle, but maybe they can act human enough to attend a family gathering without making everything about themselves.

I went to a very liberal high school in a very liberal state and I graduated nearly a decade after you did, and while nearly everyone was coming out gay or bi, nobody came out trans in my entire high school, at least as far as I know. Trannies might have officially gotten added to the acronyms that nobody used at the time earlier than that, but I don't think tranny activism took off in a big way until 2014 at the earliest. Nobody used the LBG or LGBT acronym before trannies were put on the agenda, they just said the "gay rights" or "gay pride" movement.
