Americans have inherently paranoid and insecure individuals with addictive personalities. Firstly they love being diagnosed with something and letting the whole world know they have it, even better still, they love self diagnosing then attempting to self treat (which usually leads them to drugs). Before they know it, they've got a dozen things they "need" to take for all sorts of ailments they've made up

Drugs aren’t bad, they’re just abused. If used for a specific thing then they are just medicine.
