You can't just "become" a religion. You can't convert to any kind of religion. I know that all religions maintain this fiction to at least keep up the illusion that it's fair and open to everyone, but to be a part of a religion you have to be born into it. You have to be a part of its community, a part of its traditions and heritage. You need to have forefathers who practiced the same religion, who passed down the rites to you now directly. I can't one day decide I want to become a Christian, since I am a Muslim. It'll only be by name.

What is the point of Catholicism ? It's a purely brown branch, and all of America's wealth is based on Protestantism.

To me this sounds like a religion is just a dress you can don and doff. Granted, a lot of people treat it like that, but that doesn't make it ok. I do agree that you do need to research it and not just go into it blindly. In the case of Christianity, you do need to take the leap of faith, and the reward for your faith is understanding of our heavenly Father's plan for us and of Jesus' love for us and to be full of the Holy Spirit so that all that you do reflects the grace by which you were saved.

Not all religions demand faith. In fact, I think Christianity is unique in that regard. That aside, religions have demands of you, and you in turn accept it and live your life through it. If you just shed it away and take up a different religion like it's a new coat, you're approaching it all wrong. The only way to turn away from a religion that I can respect is if they see that the fruit of where it is taking them is nowhere meaningful or good at the end of the road.

I am catholic but I have novus ordo fatigue. I havent recieved the eucharist in like a month. My main problem with christianity is that there is no proof for that. Modern archeology debunked most of the stuff in the old testament. There is proof for some biblical figures like some hebrew kings and also babylonian kings but no proof for the main figures of Moses or Abraham. No proof for Jesus being anyone but just another jewish rebell claiming to be the messiah, there is even some proof that he may be invented. You can be christian and believe in evolution but it seemy that most biblical figures believed in the creationist story of Adam and Eve and the ridiculous story of Noah.
