My brother wore these. We're both short (I'm 5'9", he's 5'6"), but I remember once hanging out and having to look up a bit to see him and having a double take before I realized what was going on. It actually is pretty deceptive, you don't notice if the shoe has a sole that hides the lift. I imagine it has to hurt your foot to use for any extended period of time, but I dunno

if you have some insecurity that you want to fix, fix it in such an encompassing and permanent way that no one ever realizes you were working on it, or else they will mercilessly dig into that.
