Does everything just keep getting harder and harder with no end?
>getting into college
When my parents were young, HYPSM schools had like a 20% acceptance rate while now they're like 3%. U-M and UT were like 48% now they're like 15%. The standards only creep higher.

>getting a job
CS, EE, and accounting majors are flipping burgers. Rn you need like 3 IT certs to even just start out in help desk for 12/hr. If China's any glimpse into the future, we can expect rampant credential inflation everywhere, e.g. needing a Master's just to deliver pizzas. Can't think of any way to reverse this.

>love
Short? Not strong? Un/underemployed due to the above? Anywhere below median middle class? Have fun staying single forever, even if you're decent looking. Only gets harder as time passes.

>real estate
An apt in a good part of the city's like 2-3k+ a month. A 3 bd 2 ba house in a good suburb's like 900k+. Only gets pricier as time passes, and again, see the job and love stuff. Out of luck by 30? Live on MLK Blvd, live with mom, or worst case on the street.

>voting/activism
What's the point if all parties and candidates are corporate wojaks?

>moving to LCOL area
1) if LCOL = applying to SWE/IT jobs in Columbus or Raleigh: you think those aren't competitive af too? Plus those areas are hardly actually LCOL, e.g. a house in a nice Ohio suburb could set you back $500k as opposed to $200k pre-2020.
2) if LCOL = applying to Walmart in Podunktown, Dakotas: how will you prove your readiness to relocate to the Podunktown Walmart's hiring manager? The average suburbanite precariat zoomer doesn't have family in Podunktown or anything, but somewhere like India or China instead.

>defection
How do you convince Dubai or Singapore to take in some loser who's too tarded to find a job in the US?

>mass media copium
During an era in which nearly all TV/radio/movie/gaming mass media is wokified and rainbowed into oblivion?

>military
Not an option for autists + you really wanna help a country that's let you down so much that you're being forced into a uniform as a last resort commit war crimes in the desert?

And remember: one accident or medical slipup = bankrupt.

On the other hand there are many investment opportunities these days. I was between jobs when I started looking into it. I wasn't diligent enough and missed the qanx 1000x by a few days. On the other hand I caught toshi early (examine that october 2023 dip). Point is new opportunities keep coming (for now) and even a thousand or a hundred can go a long way if you're willing to take the time to look around (I am not watching charts 24/7). Of course you need money to invest. I used a bit of what I earned at Amazon. Around here ULINE is hiring for almost twice minimum, maybe they have opportunities by you.

Life has its low points but seeing less than 1000 turn into over 30,000 (that was my first big hit moment) and beyond has its charm. Not bad for doing a little less gaming and a bit more reading.
There were all sorts at Amazon but my actual tasks were solo work (especially due to lockdown distancing) so it didn't even feel like others were there.
Anyway, I'll be retiring early and I'm not a numbers guy or a math wiz at all. So if I could make good picks for investing I'm sure you can too. /biz/ was actually useful just always do your own research and don't follow sheer hype.

No.
You also get older and lose the ability to triumph through difficulties you would previously have found trivial.

Good luck out there, mortal.

more expensive yeah
most reasonable way of beating the system is by living with mom and wageslaving it up/investing smart. Overtime in some trade that doesn't kill you
unless you're an entrepreneur and this whole post is meaningless. Or lucky or connected

You can't get those jobs anymore. The government will subsidize up to 50k of a foreigners wage. They only hire new immigrants for entry level now - because they don't even have to pay them.

Brutal. Life is such a meme.

Lmao this is just blatantly false. It is objectively getting harder. Anyone saying otherwise is blinded due to winners bias or is just straight up gas lighting. Our economy is in a depression you retard.
