I think these five do a pretty good job at figuring out what kind of things kids want and how these jobs are seen in society. Kids, for the most part, are easily influenced by the types of people who are idolized in society, so you are going to present to them a few occupations which are often publicly known and famously idolized. I think the idea behind this study is to show that in China, they still treat astronauts as celebrities (e.g. gagarin, armstrong, etc.) whereas in the west, kids are mostly into internet personalities (pewdiepie, mr beast, whatever). It would've been interesting to add more options, but I think they wanted to keep it simple since they're polling literal grade-schoolers. Parsing write-ins would be a pain too.
I think a big failure by the study is not recording the differences in men and women.

What makes them different is that they are somewhat competent. They have a government which has learned from the mistakes of history. Once they have a economic death-grip on every aspect of your nation, nothing will stop them from doing the worst shit imaginable. They'll do everything in their power to retain their spot at the top. For example, they'll flood your country with even more indians using their chinksect efficiency, and even if that turns out to be not-so-efficient, they'll have the might of 2+ billion people and the world's largest economy behind it.
