It was when I had small children, right before coming in, so it was more my kids' Dr suggesting as a pregame thing so the shots didn't hurt so bad. He recommended a dose about a half hour before going in. Nowadays, they only recommend it AFTER for any fever or pain that really bothers them.

My daughter won't give it to our grandson and has planned a very staggered vaccine schedule. She won't even take Tylenol unless she's pumped a ton of milk for him first. She always took things like that infrequently, though.
