I saw some cat rescue reel on Instagram and it mentioned that they got a pregnant cat aborted and fixed. I commented that it was immoral and some woman replied “Why? Isn’t your entire argument against human abortion is that it kills a human life? Cats aren’t human, so unless you are willing to adopt unwanted kittens, stay out of our business.”
I gotta admit she had a point that they are not human. But it feels wrong to me and I cannot explain why.

I often use the

But now we're at a time where people are genuinely defending forceful abortions of animals, no longer is consent even part of the arguement because a cat cant consent to abortion

Are women really killing small animals now that they can't have real abortion as a recurring hobby anymore

Cats won't hesitate to spawncamp birds, squirrels, etc. Having an excess of domestic cats nobody wants is a catastrophe for the ecosystem

Well it's an animal. We regularly KILL animals on an industrial scale and it's not considered immoral. Consent isnt irrelevant to abortion, it's irrelevant to animals.

Women don't WANT to abort anything. They just dont want to take care of the babies more.

So I admired the dead, who had already died, above the living, who are still alive. But better than both is he who has not yet existed, who has not seen the evil that is done under the sun.

Being aborted is somewhere in the middle but much better than being born and experiencing death in it's various forms.

Rescue animals are frequently euthanized when they can't find a home for them. It's more surprising that the cat wasn't fixed once it was rescued, if it wasn't pregnant then. It's population control of feral animals. Does it suck? Yeah, and I'm sure the people doing the rescues would be more than happy to have those kittens roaming around if they could. Are they able to actually do so? No, due to money/available space.

they are not. Many of them are anti-industrial farming, which i am too (industrial farming results in toxins and super bacteria in the meat), but out of the hundreds of openly pro choice people ive met, not even 10 were anti-meat or anti farming in general
