In my country this would be totally unacceptable. I come to the West and it’s very common. I was just in line at a place and people in front started doing it and it pissed me off because

1) I’m Catholic as are most Canadians, largest religion

2) it is a run in the face of people who aren’t in that situation

3) disrespectful

Western society pre world war 2 would have agreed, a slow degeneration of the West has normalized this shit.

And Catholicism is not the major religion in Canada. In Anglo America the majority were always protestants. Catholicism primarily spreads to Latin America through Spain. The vast vast majority of Canadians historically were Protestant.

Who even were the catholic groups historically? Some Irish, some tiny number of poles.
