What throws me off is that Trump seems to be accelerating the downfall of American hegemony. You can look at virtually every decision he makes and there is someone behind the scenes calculating his every move to deceive and accelerate the decline of America.

His tariffs have made foreign good more expensive and unnecessarily so. I understand it becomes a tax revenue source, but these are companies who are often American, who then outsourced work to other countries and then bring those goods back into the country. They are not paying the tariff (tax) on these goods. Instead it is the American people who are paying for. Trump could incentivize new business to compete with these corporations but instead he's protecting them and making American citizens now pay a tax on their goods.

Then you have Trump's threats and his random bombings for inexplicably no reason. He has threatened Iranian leaders many times saying he would kill them if they do not negotiate. Now Trump is threatening to kill the Venezuelan President simply because he wants to put in a puppet dictator. Everything Trump says or does is a diversion or an outright lie. At least Joe Biden had enough sense to stay out of the public view geriatric who had no idea what was going on. Trump should do the same, even though he has more of his wits about him, he knows absolutely nothing and thinks it's foolish to know topics. It's too far gone in too many ways. Economically, we're in 34 trillion debt and rising. Resulting dollar devaluation has gutted the middle class. Our whole nation's infrastructure was built at a time when resources were more plentiful, vastly cheaper, and with a far more robust manufacturing base, relative to GDP. The cost of repairing all that now-crumbling infrastructure is simply unattainable.
We have been reaping the woes of the Liberal Experiment for decades now. The only short- term benefit was adding women into the workforce, but obviously that sacrificed the native birthrates so that boost was short-lived and ultimately led to the need for immigration in ever greater numbers.
And now upwards of 1% of the entire US population is in prison, welfare is exploding, borders unregulated, crime and corruption rotting every major US city.
The sooner we balkanize, get rid of the USD and get a new debt-free system going, then regions can re-focus on their native industries and start rebuilding in a smarter way, and maybe we can keep some of this forward momentum going.

The US was incredibly prosperous before that but I think the US's involvement in Europe in WW2 was specifically to swoop in at the end to establish dominance over Europe. The US only got involved directly, really, in 1944 long after it was clear Germany lost. In fact I think it was just to minimize US casualties in that effort.

The entirety of NATO supplying Ukraine with weapons, Intel, munitions, money and fighters can’t even beat Russia which is mostly fighting on its own.
