I am suspicious of the number of 'right-wing' online commentators who claim to be Christian 'converts' of various types. Because I don't think conversion is even possible. Especially to sects to which you have no natural ethnic or family connection, like many 'orthodox' converts.

That's not how it works. Religion/church/etc. is supposed to be an extension of your family and community. If you weren't born into a particular church, but you 'convert' as an adult, that's already getting weird.

>B...but, I'm completely sincere in my conversion!

Not even possible, because (as noted above), religion is supposed to be embedded more deeply into your ancestry/race/etc. You can't just pick-and-choose 'your' religion any more than you can choose your race. Doing so reduces religion to a kind of consumer identity, which is not supposed to be the point.

>B...but, in the past, people converted! That's how Christianity began!

Entire communities or even entire kingdoms converted en masse. They were not deracinated 'individuals' picking 'religion' from a menu of options. That's a critical difference.

Whether converts are 'sincere' or not, I just don't trust them. I prefer secularism It should be obvious that the 'anyone can convert to our group' attitude of modern churches has also de-racialized them, which is not good for white interests.

A lot of people seem to get mad at these facts, but feelings don't fact about your cares or whatever.

I was born into a specific Christian church which was dominant in the small town where I grew up, and would 'identify' with that above any other religion. However, I don't believe in the literal truth of a lot of Christian theology. Over time, I adopted more of a post-Platonist/post-Gnostic attitude toward metaphysics.

Structures such as the church indicate/reflect aspects of truth, but are ultimately social constructs, and a lot of their orthodoxy is entirely mundane and developed in the context of social control rather than anything metaphysical.

Evangelicism is fairly obviously a transparent Jewish ploy to control the goyim. Sorry to break this news to you, but, there it is. Any sort of 'Zionist' Christianity is entirely a political project and has very little to do with metaphysics at all.

The Protestant types will side with Moshe Shekelstein every day of the week over a Catholic. They’ll say weird stuff about how Jews are more Christian than Catholics. It’s truthfully goyim Zionism wrapped in a Christian flavor.
It’s pretty telling those guys consider Martin Luther’s ideas to be great and revolutionary, but they completely disregard everything he had to say about jews. It’s almost as if jews leveraged the real need for reform in the medieval church to merely D&C Christians and create zionist stooges.

Your spiritual attitude isn't that much different from the Pharisees and Saducees of Jesus' day and the Rabbinical institution today. You are dependent on dead traditions conceived by worldly doctrines, claiming to be Christian-like, but you are not Born Again. I'm not here to change your mind. I am here to warn lurkers to be weary of wolves in sheep's clothing. Lurkers, if you are seeking Jesus and His Holy Spirit, to be Born Again is to trust in the blood of Jesus' sacrificial offering on the Cross for the forgiveness of your sins. It's that simple, but for the proud, it is immensely difficult. Read and study the Gospel (I recommend starting with the Gospel of John), and the rest of the New Testament. Then read/study the Old Testament so you can see how all of this has pointed to Jesus for thousands of years and warned us of what is coming (soon, I might add, if you can discern the signs).

Conversion is the only true Christians you will get.
People raised in the Church just "believe" because they were raised that way, they often time are what you would call "cultural Christians" and tend to go apostate when they get into college. A lot of Catholics are this way, "cultural Christians" but don't actually hold to the beliefs, it's just something they were brought up into.

Conversion however is radical change.

they can easily produce a letter from the diocese that they have completed catechism of whichever church they claim to belong to.
I wanted a catholic wedding but my wife was never confirmed, and she was from a european country. the church had all of her records and wouldn't marry us unless she studied the catechism, passed the test and had her confirmation certificate. she spent a year studying and had her confirmation with a group of 12 year old kids and we were able to get married.
the church is like the irs, they keep records for every catholic in the world. same applies to eastern orthodox churches. you have to have certain sacraments, which are certified and recorded by the church.

Honest question: how do we know Christianity is true vs. say, Buddhism?

The Bible says God created the world, then Adam sinned, now we gotta believe in Jesus exactly as he was described in the Bible, get dunked in water and have wine and crackers on Sunday otherwise we'll be tortured for eternity after we die.
Pretty crazy when you think about it. Giving us only ~80 years to figure it out then we get tortured for eternity if we get it wrong seems like a dick move to me.
In my opinion a merciful God would give us a few more chances to make mistakes and figure it out like with reincarnation or something.
Buddhism makes more sense to me - we keep coming back again and again until we figure it out. If you live a particularly evil life they have some version of hell but even that doesn't last forever - you get out eventually and have another chance.
Eternal punishment for actions (or lack of believing the correct dogma) during this brief, flash in the pan of a life we have seems wildly disproportionate to me.

We're in a completely different social and cultural context. Eastern orthodoxy is an interesting case, since it even developed its own liturgical languages like Old Church Slavonic. it actually became more parochial and less ecumenical over time, as it broke with Rome and became more associated with specific linguistic and ethnic groups.

Some 20-something guy in the US suddenly declaring "Hey bros, I'm Greek Orthodox now! just reeks of fraud, even if unintended. That's not how it does or should work.

I'm influenced by aspects of Christianity, and it's dishonest for me to claim otherwise. I see Christian doctrine as a kind of specific 'enframing' for a larger set of general ideas. Christ as a salvific figure whose 'acceptance' is required to avoid damnation might well point toward higher realities beyond the observable realm, but I don't see Christine doctrine as being a full summary of those realities.

A big general problem with Christianity is that it links the metaphysical fate of white men to the doctrines and actions of ancient Hebrews, which is something I just don't accept to be true.

Personally, I think a claimants to Christianity are stuck in worldly cultures and mannerisms. I am not so quick to assert that some 20-something guy in the US declaring "Hey bros, I'm Greek Orthodox now!" is necessarily a fraud, but what I would like to ask them first and foremost is if they understand Jesus. Some might use worldly labels and traditions to impose an image that they actually aren't, but there are also sincere seekers who might not be as mature in the faith who simply need some proper discipling. A lot of people are realizing that Jesus is the Way, but lot of them aren't finding their way into churches that are teaching the true doctrine of Jesus Christ, and falling into the trap of human traditions. As much as I make sure to stand up for Jesus in the face of mockers and scoffers, I also intend to help disciple those who might not be as mature in the faith to hopefully understand what Christ-like love is. I also hope that if I don't understand what Christ-like love is, that someone more mature in the faith than I will lovingly guide me moreao in that direction.

It has a direct bearing on that question. The context in which people converted was part of how their religion ended up interacting with their communities as a whole.

This is also why people larping today as 'pagans' seem so fake. Because genuine conversion to old paganism is no longer possible, because the entire social context was lost.

Doctrinal Christianity held on a lot longer, but the trends are the same.

for me, there's a few things in the bible that would be impossible for an ancient man to know yet somehow the bible describes.
Look at Eve's creation for example.
the bible describes surgical anesthesia, opening up the body, extracting a body part, then closing it back up, and then making Eve from that rib.

Now this didn't make entire sense to me until I learned more biology. In an adult body, the main place where you can find stem cells is in the marrow of flat bones. the collar bone, skull, sternum, hips, and ribs. So a rib was taken because it's a source of stem cells for hematopoeisis of the adult Adam, and he has ribs to spare. So God didn't just speak Eve into existence, or make an inanimate figure and breathe life into it, that can be brushed away as "magic" and just superstition of an ancient religious book.
Nono. even though God did "magic" some other things.. for Eve, he specifically CLONED her from Adam. Moses or any other ancient person would have no idea about these concepts of harvesting stem cells from bone marrow, and why a rib would be an ideal choice for it, or surgical anesthesia.
Yet the bible describes surgical anesthesia and a surgical operation in order to create the "bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh"

There is also a part of proverbs... where before microscopes were invented to show that hymenopteran workers were female, it says "look at the ant and consider HER ways". How would an ancient uneducated person know that the ants they see foraging are female.

On top of that.. is bible prophecy, and the entire world turning against Israel... as the bible says it would. Decades ago I'd have to take that on faith. Now? I can see it, I would have to take the US turning against Israel on faith even 5 years ago, now? 1 more election cycle, and we'll probably turn against Israel.
and well, you may think it's a good thing as a non Christian, but as a Christian, I know it's going to be a bad thing for us. We'll be judged.

well how did he speak Adam into existence?
Anonymous (ID: Gtx8kiu3) United States No.514930755

He didn't, so.. in Genesis 1 and 2 God shows 3 means of creation: Ex Nihilo, that is speaking things into existence (namely light), Making inanimate things alive (like the creation of Adam, He formed Adam's body out of inanimate Earth (Adam's name means "from Earth") and breathed life into it, and then a scientific means of creating Eve from Adam's stem cells.

Jesus on Earth also didn't always do miracles the same way each time. Some people were healed by him just touching them, some healed by them touching him (a woman who had some sort of hemophilia that caused her to bleed profusely when she had periods, she believed that if she could just touch His clothes she'd be made whole, and she got healed just from that), another time a Roman Centurion said a Jewish servant of his was sick, and asked Jesus to heal him, Jesus said he'd come right over, but the Centurion said He didn't need to actually visit the house, but just speak the command and the illness would be gone, reasoning that he as a Centurion orders people under his authority, and the Centurion recognized that Jesus was not just a miracle worker but had *authority* over things like illnesses, so He just had to command it gone, and it'd be gone, and another time He spit on the ground, made mud from the dirt, rubbed it on a blind man's eyes and it healed his blindness.

So just various ways rather than always doing the same thing.

You just don't get it, you think that everything must be done because of some utility or happenstance, like some ancestral connection.

No, some people are actual after the Truth and consider finding out about it and following it the most important thing in the world, even if doing so will cause you to be viewed as weird, persecuted, etc.

I believe that Christ was the real Son of God, God incarnate. The Shroud of Turin in particular among all of the other documentation about the religion in its early days actually gives me a reasonable belief that he came, died, and resurrected as the Gospels stated, and he fulfilled numerous messianic prophecies, especially those in Isaiah.

If I were to deny that in favor of something else like LARPing paganism just because my ancestors were pagans, even further back in time then when they were Catholics/Christians, then I would be denying the Truth which would seem stupid and antithetical to our ability to seek the Truth out in the first place.
