Portsmouth police say an off-duty officer's gun accidentally went off around 3:45 p.m. while she was working security at a "local establishment" in the 1500 block of London Boulevard. The woman who was hurt is expected to fully recover, police added.
The officer is now on administrative leave, and the incident is being investigated.
