The way he tells it, and my impression of it:
he chased his dreams.
His parents wanted him to stay in Austria,
become a police officer, g-man job,
marry a girl named Heidi.
Arnold wanted to lift.
Moved to LA and attended the gym of all the other competing body builders.
They worked out together every day,
broke bread every day.
Arnold did a documentary, and had a dramatized rivalry with Mentzer.
Arnold says the rivalry was just for the documentary.
You can see they'd all go to the beach and beach bunnies would flock to them.
They were having a good time.
Arnold worked construction during the day, and spent all his remaining hours in the gym.
Didn't take long for the spirit of LA to give him the movie itch.
Of course he had an agent, he was already a model.
He was laughed out for being so huge.
Was told nobody would cast him.
1. His accent.
2. His size.
And if you look at Hollywood at the time, say, Breakfast Club, manlet jocks. Anrold mogged TF out of them in height and in stature.
Well,
Conan was casting.
Arnold was the perfect barbarian due to his size.
And then Terminator was casting, and his accent made him sound like a machine, and again, an imposing physically as an antagonist.
He kept pursuing his dreams.
His parents wanted him to stay in Austria.
Hollywood agents laughed him out of their office.
He kept pursuing his dream.
And here we are.
I think there are lessons here.
Pursue your dream, or die trying.
What else is there?
>/pol/?
As I post here unironically.
Pursue your dreams, or die trying Frens.
