There are over half a dozen PREP-resistant HIV strains going around now, it was only a matter of time. PREP was designed as a pill that nurses and doctors and first responders could take when exposed to HIV. It was not designed as a broad spectrum prophylactic to prevent AIDS so gays could party like they did before AIDS.

These strains are making their way around right now. There's plentry of research on this on the NIMH site too. The time is coming when a large number of AIDS cases will develop from PREP-taking HIV+ people who are sexually active and also those gays not on PREP, as well as incidental other women, dogs, and kids who are exposed by bi individuals.
