That said this is the wrong way to compare interracial crime. As counterintuitive as it seems, when comparing crime committed between two different groups the correct way is to compare the total number of black on White crimes to the total number of White on black crimes.
If you compare the offending rate by population you make the smaller group look worse than they actually are even if the smaller group commits crime at an equal or lesser rate than the larger group.
Leftists often use the opposite method: comparing the victimization rate by population size which makes the larger group (Whites) look worse.
