Assuming it fits in the hole (most of these homes are custom and the ovens are TIGHT fit) it would only take an hour or two. If I gotta modify trim that's like a whole morning job

That wouldn't work in the long term. Appliances are designed to be fixed with their exact part and nothing else. If it fails then the place could explode, or a gas leak.

yeah the dishwasher cabinets are removable and come with brackets if you want to get busy, but doing so exposes everything to dust.

all dishwashers are supposed to have cabinet mounting brackets. Its a safety feature. You just got lucky its a good fit without them.

OP, the next time you see a fan like that sticking, you can indeed pull it apart and clean it up a bit. i like to use penetrating oil in the motor bells, that will sometimes buy enough time to get the replacement part.
