I quit my job because I realized it was jewish humiliation ritual.
Also i can't start my own company because I suck at programming (not as much as my colleagues but building by yourself is hard).
I don't live in basement but I have a garden with two mango trees. I spend most of the time sitting there, watching birds and squirrel. Rest of the time I am here.

I was the Assistant GM of my location, I didn't make enough to even qualify to apply to a single apartment in my city, even in the ghetto. I have nobody to cosign for me and I'm in my 30s and the 2nd highest position so I shouldn't have to anyway. Had to move out of the city I've lived in since I was born to the middle of fuckass nowhere renting a room from an old guy and getting a job as the lowest entry level factory worker because it was the only place I could find that would rent to me. I even offered places to pay them the full year in cash up front and they refused unless I made 3x rent which was ~3.3k a month in my city for the cheapest studio I could find.

I don't know what the difference between my younger brother and I was. I enlisted in the military out of highschool, eventually got married, had some kids, bought a house in the suburbs.

He stayed neet. Eventually our parents died and he started couch-surfing and borrowing money from me and my sisters. Once he'd charge up enough money, make a big enough nuisance and spend enough years not working, he'd get kicked out and move to the next person. He's 40 now. Never held a job for an entire year of his life.

When I visited him last month in his Section 8 apartment, he had no water or power. I was shocked. We live in San Antonio. It's like 105 degrees outside. He just lies in the dark playing on his cellphone and uses the outside apartment plugs to charge the phone when it dies. He eats out of food banks or begs for enough money to buy a box of ramen every now and then.

And he's not miserable at all. This is his best life. Just... unfathomable. We weren't raised different.

Because the apartments you used to be able to rent on a dishwasher salary (and still afford bills groceries, car payment, beers at the bar Friday night, etc) now go for $1500 and have roaches and mold. Seriously. Even a single room is $600 minimum to live with smelly strangers.
