Air travel in the US is fucking ridiculous. Constant delays, cancellations, and it’s not even cheap. Euros have passenger rights, costs are about the same, service is much better.

Like everywhere else they are understaffed to save money. So the remaining employees just have to work harder and longer hours to make up the difference. This means they're more stressed out and exhausted and they make mistakes. Probably a lot of them are not very high IQ to begin with. If you've never seen the luggage handlers at work, they're not gentle or considerate about what they do. They throw shit around, from conveyor belt to truck, from truck to plane, and plane to truck, truck to belt. They trust the sorting system did it's job and the bags they have are all correct. They're not checking every single one.

Traveling kinda sucks now. I used to be able to get round trip flights from Denver to most major cities on the east coast for less than $300. Those days are gone. Hotels that used to be $150 are now $480/night. Then factor in eating every meal out, crowds, delays, etc., and you need a vacation from your vacation.
