British/Allied SIGINT decrypted German police/SS traffic in 1941 reporting large-scale shootings of Jews; e.g., a decrypt for 28 Aug 1941 logged 5,130 Jews shot that day (NSA declass, “SIGINT and the Holocaust”).
The decrypt stream on massacres was significant enough to have formal distribution; e.g., August 1944 message on a transport of ~1,300 Jews to Auschwitz (NSA, “Eavesdropping on Hell”).
