Tbf thats not true. Tariffs dont create inflation.
Think about it you have $10 there are 10 different goods all $1. Gov puts tariff on 5 of them making them $2. You still only have $10 so you now buy 2 of the $1 items and 4 of the $2 items. The price of the others drops to $0 because you canr afford them. But if the government adds more to the monetary supply so there is now $12 in circulation you can afford more so inflation does happen.
Only expansion of monetary supply creates inflation anyone telling you its business, unioms, tariffs anything else is either lying or stupid.
