From the perspective of the, the decision to change the pace of competition vs the PRC and abandon containment in favor of establishing a proper hierarchy of interests and more restrained policy is the only appropriate strategy imo.

Maintaining primacy is an impossibility; risking war with China over Taiwan in defense of a lost position is absurd.

To fight on the world stage a nation needs to have a powerful economy and military. The USA does not have either of those. The USA is completely dependent on foreign labor. The US population hates its own government, police, and military, thanks to the deadly doctrine of multiculturalism. The US failed completely in Ukraine, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan, because the US population is not patriotic. Every war the US will get into it will collapse more. If the US had stayed 100% white, that wouldn't be true. The US has been importing foreigners who are not loyal to it, and because of that policy it is losing the loyalty of its own people who were loyal to it, the white patriots who served in the military for centuries. The US has been run by some very stupid people, and especially women.
