I have that experience tonight.
I had a flashback to imagining myself when I was older.
It was remarkably like the life I lead right now.
I just didn't know how horrible everything could be anyway.

checked. i guess i kind of did, but not really.
i never really saw myself as some titular hero.
also, when you are honest about what life is,
you are ok with simplicity, because life is short and brutal
it's the little things, like peace and quiet
that make life nice
not flashy stuff
people always looking for the flash or excitement are slaves in a way

I dreamt of a great conquest and a great slaughter, a field of woe and death, a cavern filled to the top with bodies of slain jeets. I was but 3 months old but it has remained to this day, 2 and 3/4 decades later, my sole dream.
