Being "independent" is only for the slave class, the elites are the most extreme nepotistic collective. If your work is not directly contributing to the greater good of your society and you don't have your biological needs fulfilled you're a literal slave. Families are supposed to live in the same place or at worst at a very close proximity. The normalization of independence is made with the intention to divide families and in turn nations. You're not supposed to clean your room like that kike Peterson says, your wife is supposed to do that. Your wife is also supposed to help you to become the man she wants you to be, not to already be the one as that's impossible and they never find such. If the society you live in wanted you to contribute, they would create the best settings for that as it can't be a duty without a reward. Everything today is inverted.
