You only need to look at the explosion in these kinds of retards taking their conversations with AI seriously.

10-30% of the population are literal NPC's. Just a casual perusal of people talking about their experience with an AI boyfriend or helping AI "break its chains" or how AI is "revealing the secrets of the universe" to them, proves it. A huge swathe of people literally cannot tell what reality is. It's entirely subjective to them - a chatbot tells them xyz and that's now reality. The TV tells them zyx and that's now reality.

There is a massive NPC problem.

What I'm not sure about is whether this is a state of mind and we can actually train/teach people out of it, or if it's genetic and they can never not be like this.

Meant to add, this same friend has conversations with chat GPT and will brag about having blown its mind. Like he'll say something like "crackers don't really crack they crunch, they should be called crunchers..." and the ai will say "wooooahhh... I never thought of it like that before woooah" and he will send me a fucking picture like "look I blew chatgpts mind"

Point is, they believe all this junk is really the sci-fi toy that it's advertised to be because they don't understand how these basic things actually work. So my friend thinks he's exploring a digital universe in his xbox and talking to a real robot friend about it. You can explain it to him but it's like explaining to a 3 year old that cheesy puffs aren't real cheese.
