I just got a meeting invite for tomorrow morning with my boss. In the 3 years I have worked for this company nothing like this has ever happened. I think I'm about to get laid off. They've been laying people off and opening offices in Ukraine and Columbia all year.

Layoffs don't happen on a Monday, they always tell you on a Thursday and have your final day be a Friday.

Also, people fired on a Monday are more likely to immediately begin job seeking, while people fired on Friday more often fall into a slump since they were already planning on being off then just remain off.

Vulture capitalism is strip mining everything inside every company, one bump and those companies go bankrupt and are sold pennies on the dollar, or fold completely if no buyers. You can have a great quarter, projected to get a massive dividend payment, and then before it happens your company is destitute and broke with no payouts anymore. What little is left of the company then gets sold off to others and you are left with... nothing.
