I would immediately find all inefficiencies, all shortcomings, and min/max the fuck out of the army according to its strengths, requirements and weaknesses. They would NEVER EVER have me, because I immediately and without remorse see through all of their bullshit and will tell them to their face. The military isn't good enough for me, it's that simple.

I mean HOI4 doesn’t have a system where officers refuse to take certain orders (like suiciding your deployment into a reinforcing army so you can get an encirclement around more troops). It also lacks a POW system, among other things. Some mods like Millennium Dawn (rocket system, electrical plants as targets, satellite system - even though it’s OP af. Some thought into suicide drone deployments/drones in general) or Black Ice (multiplayer only, singleplayer is garbage. Tag switch to any AI at the start of the game and you’ll see why.)

Unironically yes. Think about it, all mammals chase and mock fight their friends as "play". We humans also compete in games of all sorts. FPS games desensitize us to violence. Strategy games train our mind to think outside the box to uncover the most effective tactics available (META). Airsoft teaches teamwork etc. FPV drone racing trains the participants to fly a drone through obstactles at high speed etc. All could translate into destructive skills in war.
