While fucking over the Russian economy has its benefits, it's not central to Ukraine's war strategy. The strategic campaign against Russian energy is a relatively recent development. In earlier years of the war, such events were limited to sabotage operations with plausible deniability. It was only within the past year or so that energy infrastructure became a target of Ukrainian strategic strikes, and the campaign intensified after Russia unilaterally violated the agreement brokered in Istanbul to mutually refrain from attacks targeting energy infrastructure.

Ukraine's strategy has always been to exchange ground for casualties, gradually wearing on Russia's logistic sustainment and force regeneration over time while doing everything within reason to preserve its own strength. They hope at very least to blunt Russia's ability to attack and thus preserve the security of their country, but ideally to weaken the russian army to the point where territory can be retaken either in negotiations or on the battlefield. And at least for the most part it is working. Last year's Kursk incursion demonstrated that Russia's remaining forces are spread too thinly to effectively attack AND defend simultaneously, the introduction of NorK units to plug the gap demonstrated that Russia's forces currently lack strategic reserves they can spare to address emerging an unexpected situations. The failure and ongoing collapse of the Pokrovsk offensive, which was delayed an entire campaign season due to Kursk, demonstrates a measurable decline in Russia's offensive capability, which verifiably stems from a shortage of mechanized equipment, a decline in battery fire volume and difficulties achieving the kind of force concentration that predicated earlier successes.

Not to suggest that it's just 2 more weeks, trust the plan, but the big picture of this war shows that Ukraine's strategy is succeeded. Russian offensives are less and less effective with fewer and poorer tools.
