This is the equivalent of Rome pulling out of certain provinces because it's too weak, degenerate, and retarded to maintain them after a certain date.
It's the shocked contracting of a dying empire that thinks downscaling will save it.
I love how history rhymes. Things like this are so easy to predict after a point.

Nope. It was going to happen, but Trump decided that we're going to pivot to... South America instead.
>Why USA is giving up to China?
No one knows. Trump is an ignoramus surrounded by yes-man loyalists. He has never had any interest in policy or in listening to anyone else's ideas on policy. Now, he's being called to make decisions that'll shape the next century of the world and he's making them based on gut instinct and little else.

Western elites like the Bidens and Romneys got greedy and wanted to launder and traffic people in Ukraine, so they strained whatever deal they had with Putin. They were supposed to smooth things over at the olympics in Russia, with Obama meeting with Putin, but Obama apparently threw a huge tantrum about gay rights. This is "uncle works at nintendo" stuff, but supposedly one of his conditions for peace being that he wanted a gay marriage inside St. Basil's cathedral with Putin and himself in attendance. Obviously this was a non-starter, and things escalated into the seizure of Crimea and eventually the war.

i think trump is realizing that the idea of containing china is hopeless at this point. china is far too powerful already and it will only grow stronger. trump also realized that china has no global domination fetish like the US had. so there's no point in starting shit. trump is accepting the fact that the world will be split into multiple regions, each controlled by a great power. the days where the US controlled the whole world are over. china will dominate asia, russians will dominate eastern and middle europe/eurasia/arctic and the US will dominate the americas and make western europe their slave bitch.

first order of business is wiping out all the cartel ridden shit holes south of the US as they are causing a lot of domestic issues with their drugs and violence and human trafficking.

>i think trump is realizing that the idea of containing china is hopeless at this point
It wasn't at all hopeless. In fact, it was fairly simple. We could easily have completely isolated China and forced them to play ball -- as a more equal player, sure, but they'd have to play by the rules. All we had to do:
>force Russia into a defeat in Ukraine
>continue wooing India, like we've been doing for the last forty years
That's literally it. You are taking the DIRECT RESULTS of Trump's retarded mismanagement and pretending they were implicit, foregone conclusions instead of dynamics Trump created. Trump allowed Russia more breathing room. Trump pushed India into China's arms with his retarded tariffs.

You may dislike the Western project (God knows I've had my problems with it myself) but pretending that the world Trump is creating is the one that existed before his mismanagement is just incorrect.

You have said that none of this is your problem. You frame it as being the "babysitter," but what it really means in a policy sense is the abdication of our position as the guarantor of world stability. I'm not "projecting" -- I believe we should maintain the world order. We do know better. History has taught us over and over and over again that great power competition means great power conflict means great power war. This isn't some big, arrogant proposition based on 7D calculus and a crystal ball -- it is the natural outcome of multipolarity with power parity. Your inability to conceptualize basic casualty without appealing to the unknowable is not a universal failure -- you're just ignorant, incurious, and doped up to the fucking gills on ideology.

Look, it goes like this: what economic success we do have is built upon our eroding position as hegemon. Our failures to more equitably distribute the fruits and powers of that success does not imply anything but a failure of domestic policy. By abdicating our position, we incentivize dedollarization (until very recently, a complete fucking flight of fancy rendered immanent by historical misgovernance of the US by Trump and his cronies) which does not fix our domestic issues -- it doesn't redistribute the pie but just makes the whole thing smaller. The only thing that fixes wealth distribution and power disparity is systemic reform. If you want to harvest apples, you don't grow potatoes. What we are doing right now is sowing coffee in Alaska to fix a shortage of corn in fucking Iowa. It makes no sense UNTIL you filter it through dogma and ideology.

I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying on even the most basic level. The isolation of China is the RESULT of the other two. By supporting Ukraine with more and better weapons against Russia, we could have easily forced Russia into a reckoning. There's no way of knowing how that would have turned out, but it would have been chaotic, and Russia is only geopolitically useful to China as a tightly controlled agent which can be relied upon to act predictably.

The second factor here, India, was more nebulous to be sure, but by supporting it and working towards friendship, we at the very least could have leveraged our relation to keep India and China as regional competitors rather than allies in global ambitions.

It's very brave of you to call something "meme tier" when you can't even parse the basic structure of an argument in plain English.

USA shouldered the burden of providing global maritime security and the regional threat of a big stick if somebody misbehaves.

China can do that in their own area now, so the USA doesn't need to spend enormous amounts of manpower and money making sure the seas are safe.

China will have to grow up and mature and stop being the retarded bully it is, and act like the superpower it is currently pretending to be. This means working to protect and secure nearby nations, instead of unleashing the animals in their navy to persecute them.

It's a process, but china will probably figure it out eventually, or they will be the ones to experience the negative consequences of being a pest rather than a partner.

I'm just sanguine on our ability to adapt versus China's on two primary points: China is a command economy which can apply redirection via authority without a whole lot of friction; and China, of the two of us, is the country reaching out for international connections. I think it's the latter which might guarantee us a harder landing, if only because we seen determined to relearn first-principles lessons about econ 101 shit like comparative advantage.

I agree that Chinese economy is a more robust model when it comes to production capacity, however they are absolutely not resource secure (hence Africa colonization), reliant on US trade protection to sail the seas, and are arguably not food secure.
Russia is a different story and is the reason they caused so much seethe. Russia is food, resource, and industrial secure now, their major issues is government succession and Putin is holding it all together with a string.

US Armed Forces command realized that a defensive war for an island versus a nuclear-capable nation with three to four times our size is a bad idea no matter how generous your "win" conditions are. So instead of trying to turn the world's largest semiconductor plant into the site of the largest-scale defensive battle since Chosin Reservoir, they decided to cut out the middleman and pay TSMC a heap of money to build plants in the US instead. American overseas hegemony is dwindling, and the Pentagon will likely decide to pivot domestically instead, to protect its own interests and power base (as your pic states, though only partially correct).

This is more or less the same thing they did with Ukraine, albeit a lot less quietly there. Much less propaganda, money, and material help flowing to the region, ambassadors and advisors pulled to work elsewhere. It's just that there isn't an ACTIVE war being fought for in Taiwan.

We could absolutely do it, for the record. China agrees, or they would have invaded a long time ago. There is still sufficient ambiguity in US strategy that China doesn't invade -- it doesn't know if Trump's strongman impulse will manifest in obstruction or defense of Taiwan.

I think you're underestimating just how hard an objective Taiwan is. You're either looking at one of the most fortified ports in the world or literal miles of marshy sand approaching... some of the most fortified and dug-in mountainous positions in the world. It really doesn't take very long on Taiwan for the mountains to become incredibly dramatic no matter which direction you start.

China is a nation which hasn't fought a conventional war in a very long time. We really don't know what state its military is in -- if their TTPs are modern and effective, if their officers are meritorious promotions versus political appointments, how well they've integrated their NCO corps, etc. Everyone knows that the initial landings on Taiwan are going to be incredibly bloody as their completely green military marches into pre sighted firing solutions of a concentration which puts the Korean peninsula to shame.

And it still might have to end up doing it all against a Taiwan with US air assets in limited support.

>Did the whole "Pivot to Asia" thing never going to Happend? Why USA is giving up to China?
Because fighting in the SCS, aka China's backyard (homefield advantage), during their time and place of choosing (initiative) along with their weaponry makes it a death trap for US forces.
You have to understand that the Pacific is a big BIG places, and the islands while unsinkable... Are small. So not only are there no places to hide when missiles come raining down. There isn't much places to spread your forces out like in the Ukraine/Russia theater. It's either this air base or that air base and China has enough missiles to hit whichever.
You also have to remember that China has a Navy now. And that they have very very good offensive capabilities. While the US has AGEIS and is more defensive oriented. Our ships are old, our missiles and our missiles are slow. Meanwhile China has stealth cruise missiles, sea skimming super sonic maneuvering missiles, hypersonic missiles, and also ballistic anti ship missiles. So they cover the entire threat range a Navy ship is expected to face.
The KEY important part is that they are SUPPOETED by their Rocket Force. Basically everything between China and Guam is the 2nd IC. Which is few thousand KM away. China is building their entire military to fight and win the US in the 2IC. While the US military is more of a global force. That means that China is pushing the US outside it's attack envelope of its carriers. Meaning the closer they get to Taiwan, the more deadly weapons they face and the amount of weapons they face to even reach Taiwan. Basically making intervention of Taiwan suicide for the US Navy. Because as of today there is no way to replenish missiles at sea. (There are some experiments to try and solve this) But that is TBD if it works out or not.
There are a lot of other reasons but basically it is becoming very VERY hard for the US to try to achieve it's mission in protecting Taiwan.

This is just about current priorities. The US isn't 'giving up' and isn't considering China not a 'deterrence' target anymore. Unless you see massive withdraws of bases and such there isn't anything happening. This is probably also about 5th generation warfare that China has been waging for a while now. They're sending supplies to the cartels to make the drugs that are destroying a large portion of the US population, which is the 'homeland security and Western hemisphere' part.

Russia is the one military that has any shot of invasion, and they're running up against battle lines they can't break in Ukraine. Yes China does have a sizable military but they can't do anything because Russia is to the north and India is to the south. If they try any naval invasion the US and the rest show up. If they invade SEA, the same thing happens.

The great powers aren't preparing for war with each other, they are getting ready to aggressively assert power over their own regional spheres, taking land and resources by force if necessary.
The President of the United States has literally stated that he wants to acquire Greenland, Canada, Panama, etc.
China has been doing things like the Belt and Road and initiative and expanding its influence in central Asia and Africa.
Europe and Russia see each other as potentially dangerous rivals in the long term, but very weak militarily in the present, with lots of land and resources to take.
This isn't preparation for a World War, other than Europe vs Russia, none of the other powerful nations want to directly take on the others. It's the buildup to vast imperial/colonial expansion.
The major powers know that whoever's AI development reaches the tipping point first will be able to truly take over the world. They know they need LOTS of land and resources for data centers and Centralized Development Zones and Special Economic Zones.

This is why they staged the color revolution in Hong Kong and then the mainland, when that wasn’t working dropped a WMD into their economic heart (COVID), nuked several of their new refineries and factories, attempted to destroy the three gorges dam. Do only went up in popularity. So they continue to try to strangle them economically (see tariffs) but that backfired as well.

This is not really complicated at all.
For the west to function, The US need to be strong. If The US fails, The West fails. Its just how it is.
The biggest issue for The US is its infrastructure. This has been said many times by Rubio himself, and this need to be upgraded a lot.
The US dont really have much of a choice at this point either because if it just continue the way it has been going for a long time now, it will eventually become a problem that is going to be extremely hard to impossible to reverse.

For most Europeans this is extremely difficult to understand because what they know from The US is either Hollywood, Miami and New York, and its usually the great parts of it. Beyond that it is news.
Me personally who has a lot of family in The States, and who has visited 21 states so far in my life, I have seen a lot of america. I have probably been in The US about 3 months every year for the past 17 years, and over that period of time I sure have seen a lot of changes. Changes that I dont like and especially when it comes to the average way of living for the average US citizen. Its not fair at all. I have seen the greatest parts of The US and the worst parts of it. Extreme wealth and extreme poverty. And the middle class has also over the years declined a lot. It is insane to think about the fact that you can make $100k in The US, and struggle with finding a home in a safe area. That part make no sense.
So its crucial that The US focus more on its own continent for its own people and for the future of The US so that The US can be a place where americans once again can be patriotic, less polarized, and feel that they have a place they proudly can call home.

Awesome news!
All our enemies are domestic.
If the Brit’s and French want to become a Muslim caliphate and kill off their white population in a war with Russia, there’s little we can do to stop them. I hope we provide a place of refuge for Brit’s and French who want to escape. But we are NOT involving ourselves in a planned and staged white genocide.

Not happening. Period.

Thank you, President Trump.

The only thing that matters is who can protect and keep their satellite network intact in the event of a major war. The united states is so far ahead of china in this area and is the only military with backup satellites ready to launch immediately to replace lost ones. Any kind of war with china will be short as we would cripple their ability to do anything in minutes. No ones going to do shit. China wont do shit. China does not even have the ability to get a rocket to mainland united states and through our ballistic shields. That becomes impossible 10 minutes after war starts when we delete their entire sat network. China wont fuck with taiwan for this reason too. Its very clear to them they cant do shit and will be plunged into the stoneage if they do. Thats why they just cry like a 14 year old girl about tech we have that they cant steal and duplicate. China is a joke.

Are you faggots so mind fucked by how the world has worked that the department of defense focusing on defense first is a loss?

China really isn't a threat. At the apex of US weakness, Russia seized initiative in Ukraine and yet China continued to stuff its thumb in its ass. It's a paper tiger propped up by our imports and us protecting their oil trade. They're about to eat a nuclear demographic crisis. Tbh, Japan, SK, and Taiwan could probably prevent any invasion anyway.

Western civ for the past 500 years is so obsessed with Chink dominance and every century they shit the bed. Ironically the West simultaneously has shit on Russia for being backwards retards but they end up coming out on top every century as well.

there is an argument to made that instead of worrying about china which is very new on the world stage and might not be all that stable, either socially or economically, and russia that is just a mess of a country, the USA might be setting its sights on how to work towards building a more 'civilized' south america.

Think about it, if a whole bunch of mexicans are going to come into the USA and exploit all of our resources and destabilize the country (unwillingly) then I don't see why the USA hegemony wouldn't want to install itself on a largely unsettled and under-developed continent like South America.

The USA is pulling away from China because they're not really a threat to anything but taiwan, and USA is pulling out of europe because they don't float part of their defense spending, so its back to isolationism for the USA as there are a lot of domestic problems that need fixing. Not just rampant immigration, but the whole system is obsolete and needs a change or its going to fall apart. Huge institutions are becoming either corrupt or choked by bureaucracy, so, medical, education, infrastructure, housing, social contracts, all of those things need to be audited in someway or they will get worse.

Why not set eyes on this giant continent below the USA for some new perspective and, failing that, a whole bunch of new resources?

Many posters here seem to think that china needs to expand it's borders to expand it's power.
America's borders have been practically the same since the alaska purchase. Would say we've expanded are influence since then?
Sure, the U.S can turn to S.A, but even if we wrangle them into hitting carrying capacity, they'll never approach non-explicitly alligned afroceanieurasia in literally any metric, and if we pull out of afroceanieurasia, chinks can easily fill the vacuum. Worse yet, the chinks will be paying far less to suzerain a prime afroceanieurasian country, since what could've been a competing bid from the U.S is instead going into the dead end that is latinxoamerica

This is a retreat, plain and simple

Hence why trump tried to woo Russia: They're mestizo, a swing-state in the great racial election. This was an instant-win button, but he could not reach it in time (idk how he could've desu).
Hence why Latinxoamerica is their next target: A thorough backup of a race/continent, but mestizo (tangentially asian) nonetheless, and NECESSARY upon losing Russia

What you fundamentally don't understand is there was no way of militarily defeating Russia without starting a hot war with them inside their actual borders. The only hope/chance you had to isolate china was by Cozying up to Russia in the aftermath of 91 and providing substantial concessions regarding NATO and Europe's broader security architecture to them then they'd have no reason to fall into china's arms like this. You needlessly pushed Russia towards China first and foremost long before doing it with India and that was the biggest error.
