So I never understood what people can like about Protestantism.
I can't think of one single positive point, or simply a thing that I liked about it.
If I had to make one up, I would say the hyperindividualism is kinda European? But it's again actually the negation of it because it ignores every kind of spiritual authority and hierarchy.
For example, Catholicism has aesthetics, Crusades, Inquisition, clerical fascism, a long history and tradition, architecture, philosophy of scholasticism, mysticism.
Orthodoxy has also strong aesthetics, history, fascist movements, warrior culture, a lot of mysticism, architecture, etc.
What does Protestantism have? And why would anyone believe in it if there are much better European options?
As Jonathan Bowden used to say: Protestantism is the most Jewish of all Christianities.
Why? Because it negates every European/Aryan positive attribute in it, but at the same time only affirms the Semitic aspects like humanitarianism, emotionalism and morals.

Having a church service in your own language and clergy who don't instantly condemn you to hell for questioning anything they say or do. Found out the Orthodox church didn't really have this problem that caused the need for a reformation. So I am not Protestant anymore. They threw too much out and adotped heretical beliefs along the way. Can't fix corruption if people are afraid to state it. I am Christian, I live around a lot of Christians, most are evangelical protestant types, not lutheran. For them, a church breaking up is a normal thing and they church hop all the time. One of the churches found out about a nondenominational morning bible study we were having at Mcdonalds and threatened to "excommunicate" some members if they kept going because the small group wasnt sanctioned by their megachurch, so they just stopped going and went to a different church. I dont go to any particular church because they are often busybodies or the church is dominated by the pastor and his wife and ran like a cult. I go to a catholic mass to enjoy the ceremony sometimes but I dont partake in communion out of respect.

What I like about protestantism is it being an actual religion, not just a cultural tradition that I do because I think it's cool. I'm raised Dutch Reformed (as stereotypical as it gets) and know Catholicism and Orthodoxy and the ridiculous Pentecostals as well.

The Protestants (Lutherans, Calvinists, even Baptists) have a deep understanding of scripture that none of the other denominations can rival, and they know any human authority - even in God's name - is fallible. The Roman club is so adherent to their ''infallibility'' that they contradict themselves ''A is infallible and now we say B which is infallible'' and they circlejerk around themselves rather than improve their Church. Even worse, the Catholic Church is designed to stonewall anyone trying to reform something which needs to be addressed; Erasmus got ignored, Luther grabbed hammer and nail.
