Sorry, but, the majority of the oldest cities in Europe were founded by the Romans, and hence have 'Augustus' in the title'. Yes there is an element of ancient kingship, but it rapidly assumed the rites and forms of Roman imperium. Such as funeral rites and processional marches. It is patently wrong to confine it to the anglosphere, particularly with the HRE exerting an influence. in Britain, yes our king portrayed himself as an Augustus, but there was a re-Romanisation period in the post-Puritan period with Roman gods in literature, arts, plays, and neoclassical architecture, as well as genuine artefacts from Greece, not even Rome.
Most of these kings identified with Aeneas, descendants of the Trojans, but they were not 'nationalist' minded, so had no problems with assuming Roman forms, because who wouldn't want to? Only insane nationalists on /pol/ that identify them with modern italians.
Europe was crafted out of whole cloth by the Romans. It is why jews call us Romans to this day, even Americans. It is why the American freemasons had to appeal to it to convince people. The British Empire is just the last one to do 'translatio imperii', but it was far from the only one. Have you heard of Napoleon? /pol/ tards would call him a Romeaboo. He collapsed the HRE btw.
Christians continued the Roman forms without understanding why, without the sacral basis justfying it. Without the numen.
