Zeihan's theory does make sense when you consider that the communist system primarily targets all displays of intelligence in the general population in order to achieve total nonthreatening conformity of equal stupidity amongst the population -- to render them more into more easily controllable sheeple
The star of the movie The Killing Fields did in fact have to let his pregnant wife and child die right before him in the rice fields, because if he took measures to save her, it would likely reveal that he had medical knowledge because he was, in fact, secretly a doctor, which the Cambodian communist regime would've killed him for on the spot
The point is that China, being communist since, forever, is not only a devoutly anti-mind culture, but it has been one for a long enough time that not only have any intelligent people been killed off long ago, but very likely it has even killed off the very genes for true intelligence by now
And so how do you really think a society that is fanatically dedicated to destroying innovative intelligence could possibly have created a truly sound technological society, as opposed to just an ostentatious sham of one?
China's techno-culture, to the extent that any of it is actually authentic, HAD to have been exported and/or dictated by the puppeteers of the Western world -- and as it turns out, that has secretly been the Rockefeller family, and in particular their Yale Law School graduate Nick Rockefeller, and his right-hand-man with the last name Snowden and a flair for computer technology
(and, no, not THAT Snowden -- a different one)
